Shifting on up: Three Junior B leagues get bump to Junior A to make up for BCHL bolting

B.C. Hockey has unveiled its plan for Junior A and filling in for the B.C. Hockey League going unbiased.

The 45 Junior B groups from the Kootenay Worldwide Junior Hockey League (KIJHL), Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL) and Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) are being reclassified as Junior A Tier 2, and a few will finally transfer as much as Junior A Tier 1, B.C. Hockey introduced Tuesday morning.

Based on the press launch, this transfer will contain “co-operation and engagement with an unbiased advisory board to guage Junior A Tier 2 groups to find out which, and when, groups could also be elevated to the Junior A Tier 1 degree,” in addition to a “rigorous course of and evaluation, carried out over the subsequent three seasons, permitting particular person groups and communities to seek out the extent of junior hockey most suited to them.”
